Preferences and accessible authoring

Keep the workspace comfortable and the course usable.

Preferences include canvas colors, divider visibility, Developer Mode, and comment pins. These are per-browser workspace settings; they do not change course content.

Quiet Light/Dark changes app chrome. The KB separately supports System, Light, and Dark. Its screenshots default to light app chrome even when you read the KB in dark mode.

Use descriptive headings and links, meaningful image alternatives, readable course colors, and useful assessment feedback. Test keyboard access and narrow layouts. Decorative separators are hidden from assistive technology; content that communicates meaning needs a text equivalent.

Open Course settings for the Harbor, Grove, and Ember Light/Dark palettes and contrast feedback. App appearance stays independent of course appearance. A contrast check does not establish accessibility of images, interactions, or authored text. Contextual Help & docs controls open the relevant guide in a new tab.

Supported learner animations respect reduced-motion preferences. Avoid relying on animation alone to communicate an instruction or result. Review is a useful checklist, not a complete accessibility certification.
